La Liga Better With Zlatan?Sports Comments Off
|
One question that has been coming up frequently in soccer discussion circles, since the recent acquisition of former Inter Star Zlatan Ibrahimovich by the Spanish side Barcelona is as to whether the entry of Zlatan into the La Liga (Spanish Premier League) made the league any better.Views on this are mixed.
There are people who feel that the Spanish league is better with this entry of Zlatan. There are those, fans of the Spanish league specifically, who feel that Zlatan was not a good replacement for Eto’o – who moved to Italian league in the interesting acquisition deal that saw Zlatan make his entry into the Spanish premiership. Then there are those who feel that a ‘wait and see’ attitude would be better here: as Zlatan is just getting used to his new side.
It is hard to take sides in this debate, and still claim objectivity. What can be said without compromising our neutrality in the whole debate is that Zlatan is obviously a highly talented player, whose entry into the Spanish league has –at the very least – made it much more interesting. With time, we are likely to make observations that will help us in making a conclusion on whether the entry of the player into the league was to its overall betterment.
